Mother Banjo Trio Show

The Mother Banjo Trio taped a live show in our South Minneapolis neighborhood for the Minneapolis Music in the Parks series. In lieu of our cancelled gig at Lake Harriet Bandshell, Minneapolis Parks has shared this virtual show on their YouTube channel. This is your once chance this summer to see Mother Banjo play with Dan Gaarder (guitar, vocals) and Ben Cook-Feltz (keyboard, vocals) so we hope you can watch it, and share with your friends. And if you like what you hear, feel free to throw something in our virtual tip jar at the top of this page!

Sunday Singalong Grand Finale

Those of you who follow me on social media know that throughout this time of quarantine, I've been doing online singalongs every week. These Sunday Singalong shows have been a great way to connect with you and renew the sense of community that many of us have been missing. But as the summer progresses and I'm trying to spend more time with family and friends outside, I'm finding it increasingly challenging to keep them up. With that in mind, I'll be wrapping up the Sunday Singalong this week with a full set of folk and gospel tunes that the whole family can sing/play together. I hope you'll join me this Sunday, July 12 at 11 am CDT on Facebook!

PLEASE NOTE: If you like the Sunday Singalong, check out past videos on my Facebook page. Feel free to check them out and share with friends!

Pony Rug Releases New Video of "New"

Minneapolis-based video series Pony Rug just released a new video of my song "New" this week! An old favorite of mine that often doesn't get enough attention, I actually recorded the song twice--an indie/folk version for my EP Stray Songs and a brighter full band version on my album The Devil Hasn't Won. Inspired by a line from Thoreau's Walden, the song features a character growing up too fast and feels the pull and push of home--something our cabin feverish selves can probably relate to right now! Hope you enjoy it and are staying safe and sane during these crazy times!

'Tis the Season - Celebrate with Us!

The snow has arrived, we're stringing up lights, and the Mother Banjo Band is busy dusting off our holiday tunes for my one big holiday show happening this Sunday, December 8 at the Hook & Ladder Mission Room! Co-hosted by my husband Ben Cook-Feltz, this year's annual Holiday Shindig will feature performances by both our bands along with performances by The Roe Family SingersKaty VernonDaddy Squeeze Newton and other special guests. There's a suggested donation of $10, and all proceeds benefit KFAI Radio and the Hook & Ladder--two nonprofits vital to our Minnesota music scene. And since it's the season of giving, we are also encouraging folks to bring non-perishable food items to share. The show is all ages so bring the kiddos, and come on down to enjoy Christmas classics and fun holiday originals. It will be a great night of friends and good cheer so we hope to see you there!

Love & Happy Holidays, Mother Banjo!

11/2 Minneapolis Release Show!

So excited to announce my double release show with my friend and fellow Minneapolis songwriter Vicky Emerson, taking place Friday, November 2 at the Hook & Ladder Theater in Minneapolis with special guest Hayley Rydell of The Lowland Lakers! The follow-up to my band's highly successful gospel album The Devil Hasn't Won, this new release Eyes on the Sky was written over the last 5 years of major personal and political change. It features solo tracks along with amazing performances by my award-winning band. Below you can get a sneak peek at one of the tunes that was recorded live during our sessions at the historic Sheldon Theatre in Red Wing, MN.

Tickets for this release show are on sale now and can be purchased here.
